Attune

Why it's called Attune

A radio doesn't chase a station. It tunes to one, and the station that was there the whole time comes in clear. That's the idea behind the name, and it's the whole practice. You don't chase the life you want. You attune to it.

- Steve, South Side of Chicago

This isn't positive thinking

Manifesting psychology gets flattened into "think happy thoughts," and that's not it. Pretending a hard day is fine doesn't move anything. Attuning does. Attuning your mind to what you want means matching its frequency: spending real time in the feeling of the thing already here, until that feeling is where you live. From there you start noticing the people, places, things and circumstances that close the gap between where you are and where you want to be. You're drawn to them, and they're drawn to you. The same door that looked locked from the heavy side turns out to open from this one.

That's why the sessions never argue with how you feel. You can't tune from a station you refuse to admit you're on. They meet you where you are, reach for the thought that feels a little better, and then a little better than that, one rung at a time, until you're standing in appreciation. Appreciation is the frequency where the wanted thing already lives. That's the station.

What it is

Every morning at 5 Central a new sixteen-minute guided meditation goes up, in two versions. Get to Hopeful is for the days when something's heavy. It doesn't argue with that. It meets you there and climbs one easy step at a time. Hopeful & Beyond is for the days you're already okay and want more: it settles you in, builds appreciation until it takes off on its own, and lands in the quiet knowing that you are Source energy focused in a body, that well-being is the basis of it all, and that all is well. Both end in what I call the Megadose of Appreciation.

It's general on purpose. It doesn't know anything about you, and it doesn't need to. How you feel is the thing that shapes everything else, and you can move how you feel a rung at a time.

How a session gets made

Written fresh every morning

The middle of each session is written by an AI from a set of rules I wrote about how it should talk and what it must never say, with a different theme and shape every day, so no two mornings climb the same way. The opening and closing come from a library of my own scripts.

Checked before it goes out

Every script passes a hard check (no medical claims, no promises, no telling you what to feel) and an editor pass before it's voiced. I get every script in my inbox each morning and can pull one with a click.

Voiced and mixed

A calm voice reads it slowly, one sentence at a time, over music, with a lot of space. In the Hopeful & Beyond session the voice picks up speed as the appreciation builds, then lets the floor drop out.

What it is not

It's not therapy and it's not medicine. If you're in a bad place, please talk to a person who can help. This is a better-feeling thought every morning, on purpose, and that turns out to be a lot.

Questions people ask

Is it free?

Yes. Every day's session plays without an account. Your email unlocks the library, favorites and a pinned session, and puts you on the list that decides what gets built next.

Which door should I pick?

Heavy day: Less than hopeful. Already okay or better: Hopeful, or better. There's no wrong door, and you can switch.

Is this hypnosis?

No. It's a guided meditation: a calm voice, music, and a lot of space.

When does the new one come out?

Every morning at 5:00 Central. The previous ones stay in the library.

Built with you

This is early, and it's being built with the people who use it. If you put your email in on the library page you're on that list. Reply to any email from me and tell me what's missing, what's off, or what you'd want next. That's how the next thing gets picked.
